FEMA has announced that it will open a second round of COVID-19 response grants as part of its Supplemental Assistance to Firefighter Grant Program. Expected to open in the fall, these FY20 AFG-S grants will be available to volunteer and combination departments for the purchase of PPE and other supplies for COVID-19 response.
Volunteer and combination fire departments will be eligible to apply in the second round if they received funding in the first round. However, applications must support new capabilities. Applications from the first round will not automatically carry forward to the second round for consideration.
FEMA is hosting workshops for departments interested in learning how to apply for funding under the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Programs. For a list of webinars happening now through September 5 and to register, visit the FEMA website.
MSA offers a number of products that may meet the requirements of this program, including:
- Advantage 200 & 420 half masks with P100 filters
- G1 SCBA Facepiece with APR adapter and P100 filters
