August 4th Virtual Roundtable: Managing Heat Stress with PPE

Among so many obstacles on the fireground, extreme heat adds significantly to the risk of heat-related health emergencies. In fact, heat stress can contribute to the leading cause of firefighter line-of-duty deaths: cardiac events. In addition to ambient temperature and heavy work, one of the main factors that can contribute to heat stress is a firefighter’s PPE.

In this virtual roundtable, learn about PPE choices that enhance firefighter health and safety with heat management and heat dissipation while still protecting them from the external heat threat.

This virtual roundtable will be held August 4th at 1 PM ET. Moderated by Peter Matthews, Firehouse Editor-in-Chief, panelists include Caitlin Kelly and Josh Lehman from MSA Safety and Jennifer Wise from W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc.
